About Leslie
Leslie McDermid is an acrylic painter, born, raised and residing on Manitoulin Island.
She has exhibited in local galleries, the Manitoulin Fine Arts Association Art Tour, as well as had a painting accepted into the LaCloche Juried Art show in 2023.
Manitoulin Island is important to her, and influences her work. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of Manitoulin, she wants to showcase that beauty in her work to share with others.
Committed to improving her painting skills, Leslie regularly takes painting workshops and classes, to work on painting techniques, and explore her artistic expression. She has taken workshops from Cathy Boyd, Mark Hope, Jed Dorsey, among others.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I'm Leslie McDermid, an artist based in Spring Bay, Ontario. I specialize in acrylic painting, using colour to capture the beauty of my surroundings. Living on Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario, I am constantly inspired by the beautiful landscapes and serene lakes that surround me. My art is an expression of my connection to nature and my desire to share its wonders with others. Through my paintings, I hope to bring a piece of the peacefulness and wild spirit of Northern Ontario into the homes of those who appreciate it. Thanks for taking a glimpse into my world, and I hope my art brings a touch of joy and serenity to yours.
